DRUM!
Date: Thursday, March 1, 2012 -

Centre for the Arts, Brock University presents DRUM! “An international success. It conquers the stage” (The Globe and Mail) DRUM! is nothing less than a spectacular presentation of the story of four founding cultures in Nova Scota told through a First Nations perspective. With drummers, dancers, singers and musicians from African, Aboriginal, Celtic and Acadian communities, DRUM! takes you on a whirlwind adventure through the culture, music and experiences that are central to early Canadian history. Through music, video, poetry, dance, rhythm and song, these talented performers have astonished audiences worldwide with the energy, power and lyricism of their show. Since beginning as part of the 2000 Tall Ships Festival in Halifax, DRUM! has grown in international stature and acclaim as a rousing performance that uses unique cultural traditions to show that “we can hold on to who we are and share a stage, a song, a country, a world.”
