James Hunter
Date: Thursday, April 19, 2012 -

Centre for the Arts, Brock University presents James Hunter “A genuine purveyor of vintage soul.” (The Boston Globe) James Hunter masterfully revives the soul, R&B, blues and rock and roll sounds of artists such as Sam Cooke, Jackie Wilson and Ray Charles with incredible grace and fire. Hunter, a British musician put in 20 years of apprenticeship in touring and playing before his 2006 debut release, People Gonna Talk . With international acclaim, GRAMMY nominations and his unbelievably catchy 2008 follow-up release, The Hard Way , Hunter confirmed that he is a musical force to be reckoned with. He and his tight band tear up the tracks or settle into smooth soulful grooves. Having played with artists such as Van Morrison, Aretha Franklin and Boz Scaggs, you know your soul needs to be at this show. After his last whirlwind performance at Centre for the Arts and a "money back guarantee" that resulted in no refunds requested, we are thrilled to bring James back in support of his highly anticipated new album. If you missed him last time, don't make the same mistake twice!
